Don’t overload the washing machine. It shouldn’t be completely full, as that might prevent your clothes from getting properly clean. A good rule of thumb is to leave enough space for a closed fist above the clothes inside the drum. The same applies to the dryer.

Don’t turn off, unplug, or stop the washing machine while it’s running. Let it finish the full wash cycle.

Remember to empty the lint filter in the dryer when you pick up your clothes. It’s also smart to check that the filter is empty before starting a drying cycle—someone may have forgotten to clean it after their use.
